April on the Peak of the White Mountains, NH
While spring has sprung already in the southeastern part of New England, April in New Hampshire is considered the “off-season.” It isn’t until May when the locals begin to open their shops and the resorts and camping areas in the North Conway area get crowded with native New Englanders and tourists from around the world.
Yet, it is April when Legend and I like to visit the White Mountains the most. The quiet cool nights and the slow warming of the coming spring season make the mountain state a quiet place to be. This landscape is one of many different shots I got when visiting the White Mountain region.
This shot depicts the peak of the White Mountains during an early spring morning when the fog slowly begins to recede in the distance. The snow on the peak’s highest point is hesitantly beginning to melt with the incoming sun. I love this piece because it reflects the transition of seasons from the mountain’s perspective.
