One of my favorite pastimes is hiking through the rich and dense forests of my home country, the USA. While spring, summer, and autumn present their unique challenges, Winter hiking presents challenges like no other season. Winter hiking in New England prepares me for hiking in the coming seasons. I love hiking in winter conditions and physically climbing the Icy rocks while the cold Winter winds harshly strike my face.
This photograph was taken on one of the coldest days of the year. While you can’t see the wind through a picture, you can sense the harsh conditions despite the sun shining over the ice-covered lake. The air might be bitterly cold, and the hiking conditions might be treacherous, but the wilderness of a New England Forest is still there, ready to be conquered!
