Winter Haunts the Woods
Taken after the first snowfall of late autumn, this photograph was specifically designed in old sepia tones to create a haunting effect. One of the beautiful aspects of being in the woods is the mystery and allure that entice us to explore further. When I came across this old bench made of dead wood, I paused, feeling as though someone - not of this world - was resting on it.
If you look closely, you might be able to see a figure on the left side of the bench, overlooking the snow in the foreground. The bare oak and ash trees in the background, along with the darker tones from the sepia color, give this photograph a 1930s vibe that is both haunting and comforting.
